Summary:
As a Diesel Mechanic at F&S Transportation MD, Inc., you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of school buses. This role is essential in ensuring our vehicles are safe and operational, directly contributing to our mission of providing reliable transportation for students.

Job Requirements

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
• Conduct inspections on vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Repair electrical systems, air brakes, shocks, struts, and other components as needed.
• Assist with heavy lifting and moving of equipment during repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
• Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance processes and efficiency.
• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic (3 to 5 years experience).
• Strong understanding of schematics and mechanical systems.
• Experience in equipment repair and maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and air brake systems is essential.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently – self motivated and be able to prioritize.
• Valid driver’s license (minimum 3 years); CDL preferred but not required (Free CDL Training Provided).

• Must have a clean driving record, pass a 1 year DOT school bus physical, pass a pre-employment drug screen, and pass a criminal background check.

MONDAY AM start between 6:30am to 8am ; 30 minute lunch break ; PM end time between 3pm to 5pm (hours and schedule determined at time of interview)  TUESDAY AM start between 6:30am to 8am ; 30 minute lunch break ; PM end time between 3pm to 5pm (hours and schedule determined at time of interview)  WEDNESDAY AM start between 6:30am to 8am ; 30 minute lunch break ; PM end time between 3pm to 5pm (hours and schedule determined at time of interview)  THURSDAY AM start between 6:30am to 8am ; 30 minute lunch break ; PM end time between 3pm to 5pm (hours and schedule determined at time of interview)  FRIDAY AM start between 6:30am to 8am ; 30 minute lunch break ; PM end time between 3pm to 5pm (hours and schedule determined at time of interview)
