What You Will Do
As a part of the Department of Technology Services, you will support county government by leading cross-functional teams in delivering complex technology initiatives from concept through execution. You will use your specialized project management expertise to coordinate project planning, cost, schedule, and risk management, and stakeholder communication to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes. The work you do will help Carroll County Government maintain and deploy technology systems and support digital activities of employees.
Essential Duties
• Work with County agencies and contractors to translate business needs into technology solutions. Recommend hardware and software components and upgrades appropriate for the project.
• Ensure project documentation is up-to-date and complete. Develop, maintain, and organize IT policies, procedures, and related technical documentation to support operational consistency and compliance.
• Develop detailed project plans and schedules, including project deliverables, goals, and milestones. Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to the project team. Implement successful project management methodologies.
• Identify project stakeholders and communicate project goals and status.
• Respond to the needs and questions of clients on project activities and schedules.
• Maintain current knowledge of software and hardware methods, trends and techniques.
• Foster collaboration and provide learning opportunities. Facilitate a supportive work environment.
• Independently ensure all work is complete and timely to achieve department goals. Review work of others to ensure that organizational standards are met.
