Job Description

ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATOR

Laney Recycling and Aggregate, located on Old Gunpowder Road in Laurel, MD, is searching for an Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk must maintain a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and problem-solving skills. Additionally, they must also possess strong attention to detail and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Billing
Managing accounts receivable processing and collections
Accounts Payable Entry and payment processing
Communicate with third parties regarding credit applications/customer payments
Preparing bank deposits
Credit Account Management
Account Reconciliation and Business Metrics Tracking

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
Ability to verify the mathematical accuracy of accounting documents
Ability to multi-task between business operations
Well organized, motivated, and able to work independently and as a part of a team
Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time and workload
Ability to sort/file accounting documentation
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

NON-ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prior construction industry accounting experience a plus
Knowledge of Foundations software

WORKING CONDITIONS

Office Environment located at the Recycling yard

WORKING HOURS/EXPECTATIONS:

Monday – Friday
This is an exempt position

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time
Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
Talk and hear
Lift and move up to 50 pounds at times

EDUCATION:

High school or equivalent is required. An associate or a bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
