What You Will Do
As the Program Technician, you will provide general administrative, program, and maintenance support to the Park Manager. Your daily responsibilities will include using software to coordinate park facility and program reservations, handling cash and credit card transactions, paying invoices, monitoring park expenses, and performing routine park maintenance. The work you do will assist the Park Manager in making patron experiences at Carroll County parks memorable.
Essential Duties
• Provide general administrative, program, and maintenance support to the Park Manager. Coordinate with park leadership and staff.
• Serve as a point of contact for County agencies and visitors. Manage calendars, coordinate schedules, and make appointments using software.
• Prepare and process documents, including payment vouchers, personnel requisitions, p-card payments, and work orders. File documents and maintain paper and computer records management/file systems.
• Input programs for the Department’s seasonal guide. Handle facility reservations for the park using Rec Desk.
• Monitor budgets and manage office related expenses within operating budget.
• Handle transactions and maintain park Point of Sale systems.
• Provide programming, as needed, to support Nature Center operations.
• Support program operations, including performing routine janitorial services and park maintenance. Assist with programs and special events as needed.
• Assist with animal care as needed.
• Demonstrate an ability to collaborate and a willingness to learn. Participate in a supportive work environment.
• Complete assigned work in a timely fashion. Accept feedback.

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• One or more years of related experience
• A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Required Licenses and Certifications
• Valid driver’s license
• CPR, AED, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certification (or must obtain within six months of employment)
• Boater Safety certification (or must obtain within three months of employment if required)
Preferred Licenses and Certifications
• GIS training

• Work schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
• Will be required to work outside of standard hours.
Working Conditions
• Frequent exposure to potentially adverse weather conditions.
• Frequent physical activity: standing/walking, pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying, climbing steps, squatting, stooping, kneeling, and related activities.
• Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
