Career Assessment:

6th to 8th grade students use a technology platform to match career pathways with their interests, work values, personality, and skills through assessments, individualized meetings, and small group interaction.

6th to 12th grade students explore careers through immersive, hands-on experiences, across 50+ virtual simulations. Learners explore a “day in the life” of various careers while building awareness of workplace expectations.

  • Local businesses provide real-world learning experiences expanding students’ understanding of community career opportunities. Students gain insight into workplace expectations and variety of roles within an organization.
  • Businesses play a vital role by volunteering time to share industry insights and highlight a range of occupations within the organization. This brings careers to life for students and to help develop a better understanding of real-world opportunities.

A unified, county-wide, career fair spanning two days for all 7th grade Carroll County Public School students ensuring representation from all career clusters and local industries.

Career Readiness:

  • 8th grade students volunteer to participate in a mock interview receiving constructive feedback on employability and technical skills
  • Students bring a résumé to the interview where a quick critique is provided along with suggestions for improvement
