Job Description

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide personalized assistance and care to individuals, helping them achieve their personal goals, while maintaining their health, safety, and human rights. Your role is essential in promoting a higher quality life experience through respect, empathy, and self-sufficiency. Key responsibilities include:
• Assist individuals with daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and community integration.
• Support individuals in developing and engaging in social, vocational, and life skills.
• Encourage independence while maintaining an environment that is healthy and safe for the individuals’ well-being.
• Administer medication (when applicable) to individuals under the supervision of a Delegating Nurse.
• Drive individuals to participate in community, recreational, and employment activities.
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation and communicate effectively with team members and families.
• Participate in training, in-services, team meetings to stay informed and enhance skills.

Job Requirements

• Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in caregiving or related fields is a plus but not required; we provide robust training.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred.
• Capable of working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Able to stand, walk, sit, traverse, kneel, bend from the waist, and lift 50 lbs. as needed.
• Valid Driver’s License with 2 yrs experience and no major violations, DUI/DWIs, or suspensions or more than 3 moving violations in the previous 3 yrs.
• CMT and CPR certified is a plus but not required; we provide certification training.
• General DDA training is a plus but not required; we provide certification training
• Mandt training is a plus but not required; we provide certification training
