HEAVY EQUIPMENT ROAD MECHANIC

M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is an established successful construction firm located in Eldersburg, MD. We are searching for an experienced, committed, career-minded Heavy Equipment Road Mechanic to be part of our growing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Always ensures a safe work environment for self and others
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Ability to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, diagnostics/defects/malfunctions and determine required repairs on heavy equipment
Ability to change to fit bearings to adjust, repair or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic
Conducts preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and downtime on all types of equipment
Perform other duties as assigned
Follow all safety policies and use of proper PPE

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Basic math, reading, and writing skills are required (English)
Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
Heavy equipment and/or on-highway truck maintenance. PM experience or related field preferred

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a minimum of 21 years old
Must have a CDL Class A/B Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
An emphasis on safety on and off the road
Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
Strong communication and organization skills
Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Understand and follow directions from supervisors
Must own good working set of mechanics tools

Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions or shop
Lift and move up to 75 pounds
Stand for prolonged amounts of time
