Job Description

Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel in Taneytown, Maryland is seeking mature, responsible, experienced cleaning professionals to join our Housekeeping team and make the rooms sparkle.
The Room Attendant position is Part Time weekends, with the possibility of expanding into weekdays for the the right person. We are seeking Housekeepers with a wide range of cleaning knowledge who take pride in doing high quality work in an efficient manner. Attention to detail is a MUST. Ability to artfully stage the exquisitely appointed rooms of our beautiful historic inn is a plus.
Compensation is commensurate with applicable experience. Opportunity for advancement for the right individual.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
— High School diploma or equivalent required.
— Professional cleaning experience in a hotel, cleaning company or related field is preferred.
— Possess a strong attention to detail and a desire to provide the highest quality environment for our guests.
— Positive Attitude: Ability to participate and cooperate in the creation of an enjoyable work environment.
— Working knowledge of computer programs (i.e. tablets), as well as cleaning products and techniques.
— Must have own reliable transportation.

ESSENTIAL TASKS
— Follow directives to improve the quality of unique high-end boutique hotel guest rooms and public spaces, insuring a presentable environment for Antrim’s guests and staff.
— Help coworkers in maintaining a clean and organized work area and overall cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel and grounds.
— Clean and restock supply areas according to PAR lists.
— Assist with laundry management, including washing, drying, ironing and sorting linen.
— Specify guest room status using computer hotel database program.
— Monitor supplies and equipment and communicate promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor issues regarding room conditions, supplies shortages and equipment needs. Clean and maintain Housekeeping Department equipment.
— Complete all necessary paperwork to maintain and support the Housekeeping Manager and Supervisors.
— Perform all tasks within the guidelines presented in the Antrim 1844 Employee Handbook, and comply with the terms of Antrim’s position description.
— Advise the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor of pertinent situations, specifically regarding scheduling problems, staff issues and personal matters.
— Participate in regularly scheduled training with housekeeping management and staff.
— Maintain the confidentiality of all Antrim guests and staff information.

YOU MUST:
— Be able to communicate effectively and maintain a friendly and warm demeanor with fellow staff and guests.
— Demonstrate initiative, commitment and a sense of responsibility, as well as work well with minimum supervision.
— Be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions and directives.
— Be able to stand for long periods, walk up and down stairs and lift up to 35 lbs.
— Create and maintain the highest standard of quality in Housekeeping and in personal appearance, grooming and demeanor which include wearing the proper uniform and complying with all Antrim policies.
— Have the ability to work a varied seasonal schedule in response to the needs of the hotel that includes evenings, weekends and possible holidays.
— Provide your own transportation and arrive on time for your shifts, maintaining regular attendance in compliance with company standards as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
— Maintain high standards
