Job Description

The focus of the Nursery Manager will be:
● Reviewing purchase orders and mapping out a plan for handling incoming plant material
● Leading the team in the unloading of trucks and inspecting plant material for expected quality and size
● Staging committed material for outgoing shipments and merchandising inventory
● Greeting and assisting walk in customers in selecting plant material for their project
● Selecting proper trucks for deliveries and leading the loading of outgoing material
● Adjusting irrigation cycles as needed to insure all plants are properly watered
● Maintaining inventory at a high level, pruning and weeding as necessary
● Projecting a visually appealing environment by keeping the nursery free of debris, weeds etc.
● Operate company vehicles picking up supplies and making occasional deliveries

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will:
● Have worked in a wholesale or retail nursery with a wholesale department for more than 3 years, experience in a
landscape company as a purchaser or material receiver could translate
● Understand what it means to be a team player
● Find motivation in focusing on the needs of customers
● Show urgency in completing time sensitive tasks
● Learn basic software applications easily
● Strive for excellence
● Share ideas with the rest of the leadership team for improvement and growth
