Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team at a local, American diner. The ideal candidate will have a passion for comfort food, strong multitasking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for preparing breakfast and lunch items according to our menu standards while maintaining a clean and organized workstation. Will also at times be responsible for prepping food for diner and food truck menu.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items such as eggs, pancakes, burgers, sandwiches, soups, and daily specials.

Operate standard kitchen equipment: griddle, fryer, stove, oven, slicer, etc.

Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before and during shifts.

Ensure all food is prepared quickly and correctly according to recipes and portion guidelines.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area.

Work with servers and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs to the manager or head cook.

Follow proper food handling procedures and adhere to health and safety guidelines.

Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties, including cleaning and equipment checks.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a line cook, preferably in a diner or casual restaurant setting.

Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
