Job Description

As a part of the Department of Technology Services, you will apply your knowledge of software to provide technical support to Carroll County Government agencies and staff. You will write and maintain computer programs and assist in application systems development and support. The Applications & Programming Manager will rely on you to support the use of technology throughout the county.
Essential Duties
• Write and/or modify programs in accordance with project requirements and agency standards.
• Test, document, and implement systems and projects to ensure conformance with specifications and requirements.
• Research and test new software, browsers and utilities.
• Investigate problems and implement changes resulting from system operations.
• Provide technical support to county agencies and staff to resolve issues and answer questions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of software and hardware methods, trends, and techniques.
• Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.
• Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities. Proactively assist peers to create a supportive work environment.
• Exhibit integrity, ethics, and fiscal responsibility.

You Might Be a Good Fit If
Education and Experience
• Associate degree or two years of college in computer science or a related field
• Two or more years of related experience
• A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
