What You Will Do
As a Recreation Leader, you will support a variety of Recreation activities during the summer season. Working under the guidance of Recreation leadership, you will lead activities and support community outreach efforts. The work you do support the daily operation of summer camps and youth programs, providing a safe and inclusive environment for participants.
Essential Duties
• Assist with the daily operation and supervision of summer camps and youth programs.
• Lead and participate in recreational activities including sports, games, crafts, and group activities.
• Help to plan, organize, and implement engaging and age-appropriate programs.
• Provide a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Assist with weekend and evening special events and community programs.
• Support program setup and breakdown, including equipment and activity areas.
• Provide administrative support such as attendance tracking, preparing materials, and organizing supplies.
• Assist with community outreach efforts and promotion of recreation programs.
• Provide friendly customer service to participants, families, and community members.
• Work collaboratively with recreation staff and volunteers to support assorted programs and events.
• Monitor facilities and equipment to ensure safe and proper use. Follow safety procedures and report incidents or concerns to supervisors.
• Complete assigned work in a timely fashion. Accept feedback.
• Demonstrate an ability to collaborate and a willingness to learn. Participate in a supportive work environment.

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• Up to one year of related experience
• A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Required Licenses and Certifications
• Valid driver’s license
• CPR, AED, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certification (or must obtain within one month of employment)
Additional Information
• Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
• Work schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
Working Conditions
• Frequent physical activity: standing/walking, pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying, climbing steps, squatting, stooping, and related activities.
• Occasional exposure to potentially adverse environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, chemicals, noise, and airborne particles.
• Occasional exposure to potentially adverse weather conditions.
• Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
