Patron Member Coordinator/Multimedia Content Producer

The Position
We are looking for a creative and motivated individual who is capable of thriving while handling multiple duties related to training and customer service, video editing and live streaming of events. The candidate must have a deep commitment to the First Amendment and the values and principles of public access to media. The challenge of the role is to be able to transition from working to maintain a patron membership base and develop patron members’ skills to editing news or sports video either alone or in tandem with an editor or patron member, to successfully live streaming remote meetings or sporting events to our website, social media and our cable channels either alone or with CMC staff members – perhaps all in the same day. Establish and maintain a reporting process to update staff managers on the status of projects, initiatives and accomplishments. You will be expected to learn, practice, apply and model the principles and techniques of interpersonal relations of the BehavioralOS system. This position requires flexible working hours including evenings, weekends. This position reports to the Managing Editor of Digital Content.

Job Requirements

Typical Duties
Develop, recruit and expand a public patron service (patron members) focused on public access to media, DIY media makers and volunteers.
Create connections with career and tech programs, local colleges and high schools and local media makers community.
Maintain current patron member contacts and all pertinent records, including updating patron member information in CMC database and developing reports of monthly performance indicators.
Train, consult and advise patron members on basic production equipment, concepts and workplace practices as well as media literacy, community media and professionalism.
Communicate with CMC patron members to coordinate new project proposals, equipment reservations, project timelines, patron membership expiration, workshops, and volunteer opportunities.
Develop, schedule and conduct instructional workshops for patron members, interns and volunteers on basic production techniques. This includes orientations or other onboarding and retention activities.
Collaborate with Marketing to develop outreach, publicity materials for workshops, and patron member services and initiatives.
Collaborate with Marketing to schedule, place and maintain video assets on video servers and social media platforms.
Edit and produce content on any and all of CMC’s projects or productions, independently and in tandem with editors.
Setup and operate production equipment for CMC events, studio and field productions.
Cover municipal events, notably public meetings, typically remotely from the CMC.
Assist in editing/streaming training of content producers, casual staffers.
Essential Education and Experience
HS Diploma plus AA Degree, plus two years of related professional experience.
Additional education in broadcast, film or digital media production can be substituted for practical work experience on a year for year basis.
Minimum of two years experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud or Final Cut Pro.
Experience with high contact customer service or member services.
Experience as teaching assistant or instructor.
High degree of proficiency with software applications including Google Suite or MS Office.
Excellent communication, organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple and potentially simultaneous requests for services and projects while consistently delivering within established deadlines.
Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
Ability to manage time and assignments with minimal supervision.
Ability to work collaboratively.
Desirable Education and Experience
BA degree or higher in broadcast, film or digital media production
Prior experience in video production, working with Adobe Creative Suite, or other digital creative tools including software programs such as Final Cut Pro.
Professional communication and public relation skills.
Skilled with video/audio/computer systems, routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
Experience with LMS such as Google Classroom, Moodle, TalentLMS or equivalent.
Experience with CMS such as Salesforce, Neon or equivalent.
Experience with social media content creation, distribution and management.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ability to climb (stairs/ladders) or balance
Ability to stand and/or walk at 2-3 hour intervals
Ability to transport oneself
Clear driving record and valid driver’s license
