Job Description

Job Summary:

Effectively leads the retail branch team. High expectation of growing consumer and small business portfolio through proactive relationship building. Lead the full daily sales, operations and customer service aspects of the branch by coaching and mentoring branch team to exceed expectations. Responsibilities include to acquire, build and retain valuable customer relationships, manage risks and develop employee potential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Takes ownership for effectively leading a branch team and managing the delivery of outstanding customer service, achievement of sales goals, operational efficiencies and coaching branch team by following the Farmer’s and Merchant’s sales and service model is met.
 Acquire, build and retain valuable customer relationships through proactive business development and community activities.
 Implements sales and promotional programs with creativity and energy such that goals are achieved, and quality standards are met or exceeded.
 Responsible for the growth activity of the branch (i.e., consumer, small business or both depending on market opportunity); expectation of daily/weekly/monthly growth activities to take place.
 Manage branch sales process through goal setting, coaching, training and results analysis.
 Facilitates integrated delivery of financial services and products, including merchant service, credit card and mortgage by referring customers to the appropriate department.
 Originates consumer loans within FMB guidelines.
 Comply with all Federal, State, and local consumer protection laws governing loan origination including the SAFE Act registration and renewal rules as defined by the bank, if applicable.
 Demonstrates a working knowledge of business acumen and understanding of business banking functions including deposit, loan and services knowledge.
 Manages the selection, placement, performance, development, promotion, and termination of branch team.
 Ensures operational efficiency, compliance and quality standards are met.
 Responsible for all aspects of branch security in accordance with Farmers and Merchant’s security policy.
 Responsible for positive community relations in the branch market area.
 Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
 Complies with regulations, policies, and procedures.
a. Complies with the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Policy
(BSA/AML) as it applies to the position. Attends annual Compliance Training
Program, including BSA/AML Training, Red Flags, Elder Abuse, Network
Security Program Training, Bank Security Training and Management Roundtable
Disaster Recovery/Pandemic Contingency Planning.
b. Complies with federal and state regulations, including but not limited to, Reg. D,
Reg. E/EFT, Reg. CC, Reg. DD/TISA, USA Patriot Act, CIP, Identity Theft Red
Flags, etc.
 May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and facilitate courses as subject matter expert.
 May be responsible for multi-branch assignment or De Novo branch.
 Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Farmers and Merchants Bank values of community banking.
 Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.

Job Requirements

Desired Skills, Competencies and Education:

 Minimum of 5 years of banking experience, knowledge and training in bank product sales and branch operations.
 Previous branch management experience in a high-volume environment preferred.
 Demonstrated experience in sales, accounting or financial analysis with significant track record of relationship building with small businesses, strong business acumen and understanding of credit needs.
 Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations.
 Highly motivated – sales and service driven.
 Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
 Effective problem solving and decision-making abilities.
 Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
 Team player with an energetic positive attitude.
 Excellent organization and time management skills.
 PC proficient; Competent with Microsoft Office – Windows, Word and Excel.
 High School Diploma with 5 years of banking experience or college degree preferably in Business/Finance or major in another discipline.

In the performance of respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.  Must possess ability to enter numerical data on a computer with speed and accuracy; and should have a good mathematical aptitude.
 Must be able to lift/push/pull and/or carry 50 lbs.
 This job may be very sedentary in nature
