Curator/Farm Animal Supervisor – Farm Museum
$49,172 annually ($23.64 hourly, Grade C10), 40 hours per week, non-exempt
Hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, weekends and holidays as needed

The Carroll County Farm Museum is currently seeking an individual to oversee planning and implementation of programs to secure, register, preserve and exhibit the more than 12,000 artifacts in the Carroll County Farm Museum’s collection, while educating visitors about the collection, the Museum and 19th Century farm life.
The Curator will be responsible for designing exhibits, keeping accurate records of the museum’s collection, and maintaining artifacts. This individual will also supervise, train, and schedule the museum’s Living History and Farm Camp staff, docents, and volunteer guides.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with and overseeing the care of farm animals such as oxen, sheep, goats, rabbits, and chickens.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Museum studies, American History, Historic Preservation, Education, or related field
2. Three years’ experience in the study of historic preservation, restoration, and 19th century farm life, including one-year supervisory experience
3. Experience working with farm animals such as oxen, sheep, and goats
4. Requires a criminal background check as condition of employment
*A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications
