Job Description
Effectively supports the Branch Manager by leading the retail branch team. An Assistant Branch Manager should have the skill set to lead the branch sales, operations and customer service aspects of the branch by coaching and mentoring branch team to exceed expectations with minimal assistance. High expectation of growing consumer customer base through proactive relationship building. Knowledgeable with servicing small business customers by providing outstanding customer service levels. Responsibilities include to acquire, build and retain valuable customer relationships, manage risks and develop employee potential.
* Acts as back up to Branch Manager’s absence by ensuring internal functions of the branch team delivery of outstanding customer service, achievement of sales goals, operational efficiencies and coaching branch team by following the Farmers and Merchants sales and service model is met.
* Oversees and leads the efficient day to day operational soundness of the branch to ensure all operational, security, audit functions are completely and properly performed by the staff.
*Takes ownership of account servicing and error resolution, including resolving complex customer problems and taking complete ownership of issues escalated by other
Bankers, including exercising override authority based on specific situation. Follow-up on these issues as required to ensure timely and accurate resolution and convert
servicing situations to sales/referral opportunities.
* Facilitates integrated delivery of consumer & business financial services and products, including deposit products and multi-channel delivery services, consumer lending and credit card products by following the FMB Relationship Building process.
* Supports sales and promotional programs with creativity and energy such that goals are achieved and quality standards are met or exceeded.
* Complies with regulations, policies, and procedures.
* Responsible for positive community relations in the branch market area.
* May perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years banking experience, knowledge and training in bank product sales and branch operations.
* Previous branch management experience preferred.
* Demonstrated experience in sales, accounting or financial analysis.
* Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations.
* Highly motivated – sales and service driven.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
* Effective problem solving and decision-making abilities.
* Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Team player with an energetic positive attitude.
* Excellent organization and time management skills.
* PC proficient; Competent with Microsoft Office – Windows, Word and Excel.
* College degree or High School Diploma plus a minimum of 5 years of experience.
