Job Description

Hamel Builders, Inc., has an opening for a paid Internship position. The intern will perform a variety of duties in the field of construction management, support a crew and project team in the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects. The length of the Internship is 10 weeks. The ideal candidate for this entry-level position will be able to work full-time at 40 hours per week during the summer and be able to travel to job sites. The qualified candidate will join an organization that relies on strong teamwork and furthers individual opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Monitoring of construction progress and schedules
• Assistance with daily tasks for superintendent and engineering teams, including:
o Cost estimating
o Document preparation
o Tracking deliverables and schedule
o Punch-list and project close-out activities
• Process submittals and RFI’s through Procore
• Coordinate workflow and activities of multiple trades in a high-production environment
• Conduct walk-throughs and develop punch lists.
• Interact with clients, architects, and other partners
• Work with the design team through preconstruction
• Present a final project to the leadership team
Position Requirement
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Ability to pass background check
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to analyze and interpret contractual documents
• Strong self-organizational and management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be dependable, prompt, accountable, professional, and mature
