****Starting rate of $16.00 and $2000 Sign on Bonus****

****Schedule: typically, 8:30A-4:30P weekday hours (35-40 hours) ****

We are hiring! Join the Penn-Mar team and become a Direct Support Professional. (Also known as Direct Support, DSP, Residential Assistant, Home Health, Caregiver, CNA). The ideal applicant would be flexible, outgoing, and enjoy spending time in the community.

At Penn-Mar Human Services, Direct Support Professionals (Also known as Direct Support, DSP, Residential Assistant, Home Health, Caregiver, CNA) will provide support to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities daily as they work on individualized goals.

DSP will work with various individuals in a variety of home and community settings, in both small group and 1:1 situation. The DSP will encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion, contribution, and/or employment.

Responsibilities

Assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives.
Assisting with participation and exploration of the community.
Assist individuals to become an active participant in their community and to build natural support networks.
Cultivating and expanding independent living skills.
Assisting with development of meaningful and personal relationships.
Implementing strategies to achieve person-centered plan for each person and provide support to them according to their plan.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
A high school diploma or GED required.
Must be flexible and able to work independently.
Must have a current valid US Driver’s License for at least 2 consecutive years (Driving time while holding a Learner’s Permit does not qualify).
Must have less than 3 moving violations (NO Major Violations, D.U. I’s, Suspensions) in the previous 36 month.
The position does include personal vehicle use (Penn Mar provides mileage reimbursement).
