Job Description

Green Way Lawns has been in business since 1966, spanning through 3 generations as a family-owned and operated business. There is tremendous growth happening, and we need an additional team-player to help us grow and succeed!

This position is entry-level and is a great position to start learning about the chemical end of landscaping. As experience is gained, and there is a proven positive work experience, pay increases will be discussed.

The position would start as a helper position at $15/hour and ride with the driver to various account properties. Ideally, the candidate has a VALID driver’s license so that as we expand, a promotion to Route Driver would be considered, WHICH MEANS MORE PAY! Drivers and helpers drive using a company vehicle to various customer’s homes throughout Carroll and Baltimore Counties as well as Baltimore City. They spray and treat lawns as per the customer’s contract and look for any hints of lawn issues such as insects or grass damage. They also do seeding and aeration in the Spring and Fall.
Schedule is 7am-3pm, but many days they are off by 2:30pm. Saturdays, the hours are 7am-11am. During the peak of Summer, the hours may change to get a start on the day before the Summer heat kicks in.

A successful candidate will also be considered to move from hourly employment to salary, which will include paid time off and a raise. Salary employees also have more choices for additional paid time off, etc.

This is a seasonal position. Layoff would be in December and call back is March 1st!
Vacation is paid and is the Third week of July.
Small bonuses such as baseball games and gift cards are provided throughout the year to show our appreciation for hard work on top of the previously mentioned benefits.

The ideal employee would have:

– MUST have transportation
– Driver’s License -preferred
-MUST want to work and help a small business grow
-MUST be punctual
-MUST not be someone that has theneed or desire to call off or miss work.
-Prefer someone to start immediately
-The ideal person will have a positive attitude
-5-6 Saturdays in the Spring and 5-6 Saturdays in Fall required – Saturdays are half days
