Watershed Restoration Engineer – Bureau of Resource Management
$66,664 annual salary (Grade C13), 40 hours per week, exempt position
Hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

The Carroll County Bureau of Resource Management is seeking a candidate with environmental science or
engineering experience to lead the development of restoration projects to meet National Pollutant Discharge
Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements. The County has an active program developing stormwater
management facility and stream restoration projects. This position is responsible for the evaluation and
prioritization of projects, performing concept level design to identify design constraints and suitability of
projects, technical and contract management of consultants, and construction coordination with contractors.
The ideal candidate for this position must be able to collaborate and prioritize daily tasks as they pertain to
program and project management. Experience with stormwater management, permitting requirements from
Maryland Department of the Environment and the Army Corps of Engineers, contract management, and
environmental compliance are preferred. An engineer in training or professional engineer is also preferred but
not required.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
2. Five years’ experience in stormwater management engineering design, or project management*
3. Valid driver’s license
*A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications
