Job Description

Maintenance Specialist – Department of Recreation and Parks/Hashawha
$39,312 annually ($18.90 hourly, Grade C07), 40 hours per week
Hours are typically Monday through Friday from 6:00 am – 2:00 pm; Some evenings and weekends required.

Hashawha Environmental Center is seeking a skilled trades worker to join our team as a Maintenance Specialist. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, work well as part of a team, and be able to provide excellent customer service to park patrons. A varied skill set is a plus as tasks may include general construction, plumbing, equipment maintenance, etc.
A typical workday may include cleaning and general maintenance of the residential camp facilities as well as public facilities, grounds maintenance, trash removal, and preparation of pavilions for rental by the public. Other projects may include general construction, trail maintenance, etc. During weather events, staff will be required for snow removal and other clean up duties.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED
2. Three years of experience as skilled trades worker or parks and grounds maintenance*
3. Valid driver’s license required; Class A or B CDL preferred
4. Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical Card
5. CPR and First Aid Certification (or obtain within the first six months of employment)
6. Requires criminal background check as condition of employment
*A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications
