Summary:
This is a direct service position, requiring specific knowledge of behavioral health, and skills in crisis intervention and stabilization with both adult and child and adolescent populations. This position is responsible for responding to crisis calls as well as scheduled interventions that require face-to-face interaction in the client’s home. This is an hourly position. The individual is expected to work as a member of the Mobile Crisis Team.
Responsibilities:
Utilize shared personal lived experience to promote clients’ recovery, offering support, advocacy and skill development opportunities
Provide coaching and consultation to clients to promote recovery and self-direction
Model skills for, provide consultation and cross-training to other team members in recovery principles and strategies
Develop and implement goal-oriented crisis intervention responses. Assist clients with development and implementation of crisis stabilization plans
Provide referral and linkage to appropriate community resources (e.g. residential crisis, outpatient providers, case management services, etc.).
Maintain current, accurate and complete clinical documentation and data tracking
Develop and maintain working relationships with community agencies and law enforcement
Promote effective relationships among clients, families and referral sources
Maintain working knowledge of state and local social service systems (e.g. APS, CPS, Family Preservation, etc.)
Maintain functioning vehicle to respond to calls and provide transportation to clients as necessary
Maintain client privacy in accordance with HIPAA, MD Privacy Law and WSI policy
Plan coverage for absences in conjunction with your supervisor
Complete training and documentation as required by regulation and accreditation bodies
Perform other duties as assigned by the Crisis Services Program Director
Job Requirements
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
Certificate as Peer Specialist required
Professional Experience: Self identifies as an individual with a substance use disorder or a serious mental illness who is currently or formerly a recipient of behavioral health services in the process of recovery. Two years of positively referenced work, student or volunteer experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to navigate through applications and utilize keyboard to input required documentation into electronic health record
Driving Record: Safe Driving Record
Background Check: Satisfactory Criminal Background check
Possession of a 4 passenger vehicle that meets company inspection, valid Driver’s license and vehicle insurance that names employee as insured driver
Availability of work schedule: Primarily mid-shift weekdays, flexibility is required for some evenings and weekends to meet the needs of clients.
