Job Description

The City of Westminster is seeking a Deputy Director of Public Works that will be responsible for assisting in the general operations of the Public Works Department, overseeing Engineering and Construction Inspection, and supervising personnel.

This position assists with plans and specifications for capital and development projects, oversees the proper maintenance of City buildings and grounds, assists with right of way and land acquisition functions, prepares and monitors budgets, and with the submission of department Capital Improvement Plan proposals.

The Deputy Director of Public Works acts as the project manager for City construction projects, oversees safety and loss prevention for the subordinate departments, and attends meetings with government and agency officials, contractors, and others.

Job Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, or a related field; Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in a related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class A driver’s license.

Wages per hour: The salary for this full-time position is $90,000 – $110,000, based on qualifications. Additional consideration may be given for a licensed PE.
