Job Description

The City of Westminster is seeking a Street Sweeper that will be responsible for performing a variety of duties essential to maintaining and improving the appearance of the City of Westminster’s streets, parks and grounds

An employee in this position will be responsible for performing ground maintenance work including, but not limited to street sweeping, garage sweeping, trash pick-up, snow removal, grass mowing, and general park maintenance. Operates various equipment including riding lawn mower, tractor, push mower, trimmer, and street sweeper. Performs maintenance on grounds equipment. Keeps supervisor informed of unusual or detrimental conditions including equipment malfunctions and/or other problems. Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency Diploma GED; one (1) year of experience in medium and heavy equipment mechanics; or Equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience. Licenses or certifications: first aid training and CPR certification.

The hourly range for this part-time 20-hour position at $18.00 an hour, based on qualifications.

Retirement:
Upon employment, Employee will be enrolled in the MSRA Reformed Contributory Pension Plan Participation is mandatory and requires a 7% employee contribution of the Employee’s base salary (hourly rate times the 1040 base annual hours) on a biweekly basis. The employee’s biweekly pension plan described in the plan contributed remains the same on each biweekly pay regardless of the hours worked. Membership in the pension plan is subject to MSRA regulations.
