Job Description

New Chef Restaurant is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Baltimore. Job Requirements

Responsibilities:
*Preparation of journal entries to support month end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Apply accounting principles to assist in the preparation of financial reporting
* Assist in the preparation of sales tax, property tax, and corporate tax returns
* Monitor and review the tax inbox to resolve any outstanding tax issues
* Assist in the analysis of Gross Margin reporting for various business units
* Research and reconcile discrepancies
* Ensure compliance with internal control standards
* Prepare and organize support for year end audit

Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Strong proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
3. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
4. Solid understanding of accounting principles, regulations, financial and corporate accounting, the accounting framework and etc.
5. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Familiarity with Mandarin is advantageous but not required.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.
9. Prior experience in the restaurant industry is a plus.
10. Answer phones politely and professionally, and take messages and/or transfer calls accordingly.
11. Perform clerical tasks as assigned.
