Pay Range (Grade): Hourly Rate $21.34 – $34.14 (C08)
Other Compensation Offered: Overtime, Compensatory Time

What You Will Do
As a Building Maintenance Technician, you will perform basic building maintenance tasks along with locksmithing responsibilities in accordance with all applicable industry standards, laws and regulations. Under the direction of a Locksmith Mechanic or Facilities Supervisor, you will apply your maintenance knowledge and skills to provide services to all County buildings. We are looking for a well-rounded individual with basic locksmithing knowledge.
Essential Duties
• Perform routine locksmith assignments.
• Replace, repair, and cut new keys for a wide variety of locks located in County owned and leased properties.
• Maintain accurate, complete and retrievable key and lock inventory records.
• Recommend and install appropriate new locks and provide keys for all assigned County building renovation projects.
• Perform basic building maintenance tasks and assist with construction projects.
• Gather proper materials and tools in preparation for jobs. Use resources effectively.
• Follow all established safety rules and regulations. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
• Perform snow removal at County facilities as needed.
• Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.
• Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities. Proactively assist peers to create a supportive work environment.

Education and Experience
• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• Two or more years of related experience
• A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Required Licenses and Certifications
• Class C non-commercial driver’s license
• Locksmith Certification program (or must obtain within six months of employment)
Additional Information
• Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
• May be required to work outside of standard hours.
Working Conditions
• Daily exposure to potentially adverse environmental conditions.
• Work includes daily physical activity: lifting and carrying over 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and related activities.
• Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
