Job Description

A Radio installer/technician will program radios with FCC licensed frequencies, install them into various locations including trucks, heavy machinery, buildings, and more. Depending on experience the Installer/technician also does component level repair of commercial radio equipment both in the field and on a bench. Use of service monitors, volt meters, VSWR meters, and other various test equipment is a common occurrence during a normal work week.

The radio tech will be trained on how to install antenna systems for repeaters and mobile radios, as well as how to properly install connectors on shielded coaxial cable. The installer/tech will drive to locations for many jobs such as installation of a radio in a customer vehicle, troubleshooting and repairing radios in service, picking up repairs at customer locations, delivering new and repaired products to customer sites, and much more.

If employee is considered eligible we would assist them in pursuing an FCC license after 6-12 months of employment.

Job Requirements

Excellent communication skills
Excellent driving history
Good customer service skills
Ability to solder through hole components on PCB
Experience with using a variety of power and hand tools
Ability to climb ladders up to 40ft and willingness to use lifts for various jobs at high elevations
