What You Will Do
This dynamic full-time position offers a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate community programming and facility use across several key locations in Carroll County. As the Community Facility Coordinator, you will be responsible for the coordination of community programming at the Charles Carroll Community Center, as well as the scheduling and oversight of the fields at Carroll Community College and at Charles Carroll Park. The work you do will ensure the delivery of well-organized, inclusive, and high-quality recreational opportunities that enhance the quality of life for Carroll County residents.
Essential Duties
• Develop and plan revenue generating activities to insure self-supporting capacity of the facility. Prepare and monitor an annual budget to include the development of a 5-year replacement inventory for capital items.
• Design, market, and implement community-based recreation programs, leisure services, athletic program, and adult leagues. Target diverse populations including youth, adults, seniors, and underserved groups.
• Serve as the primary scheduler and issuance of permits, including invoicing and collecting fees, for the Carroll Community College artificial turf field and grass fields and Charles Carroll Community Center and Charles Carroll Park
• Work with volunteer recreation councils and attend evening recreation council meetings. Request facility use through local schools.
• Plan and oversee special events held at the community center, including both department-led and third-party events
• Serve as an on-site presence during high-volume activities, providing logistical and customer support
• Maintain detailed records of facility use, rental agreements, program participation, and customer communications. Prepare regular reports on facility usage, program success, and community feedback.
• Foster collaboration and provide learning opportunities. Facilitate a supportive work environment.
• Independently ensure all work is complete and timely to achieve department goals. Review work of others to ensure that organizational standards are met.

Job Requirements

You Might Be a Good Fit If
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation & parks or a related field
• Three or more years of related experience
• A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Required Licenses and Certifications
• Valid driver’s license
• CPR, AED, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certification (or must obtain within six months of employment)
Preferred Licenses and Certifications
• Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE) or Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP)
Additional Information
• Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
• Work schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions
• Occasional exposure to potentially adverse weather conditions.
• Frequent physical activity: standing/walking, pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying, climbing steps, squatting, stooping, and related activities.
• Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
