Job Description

Chesapeake Geosystems is seeking an entry-level field/ shop technician to join our team. This role offers hands-on training in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. The technician will assist in repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment both in the shop and in the field. The ideal candidate for this role is hardworking, punctual, and responsible.

Responsibilities:

Assist senior technicians in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of heavy construction equipment (drilling rigs, excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, etc.)
Preform basic service tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and lubrication
Learn to identify mechanical and electrical issues
Travel to job sites for on-site repairs and emergency services as needed
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
Maintain detailed logs of maintenance and repair work
Maintain a clean work area, properly store tools, and organize equipment

Job Requirements

Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
High school diploma or GED required, vocational training is a plus
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability
Physical Demands:

Ability to lift 75+ lbs., work in various weather conditions, and travel as needed
Must be able to work 10 or more hours per day, between 45-50 hours per week
