What You Will Do
As an Environmental Inspector I, you will perform grading reviews and inspection duties. Your role will assist with the review of plans for compliance with Grading and Sediment Control code and State regulations. The work you do will ensure construction sites conform to approved plans.
Essential Duties
• Review, inspect, and enforce grading and sediment control codes for active construction projects. Ensure active construction sites conform to the approved plans.
• Review grading plans for compliance with Carroll County Grading Code. Issue completion certificates and recommend bond release as projects receive final approval.
• Advise grading permit applicants on review/inspection and permit requirements.
• Utilize Accela for updating projects, inspections, and adding documentation.
• Perform maintenance inspections on existing Stormwater Management Facilities.
• Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.
• Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities. Proactively assist peers to create a supportive work environment.

• Sediment and Erosion Control certification (Maryland Department of the Environment)

• Frequent exposure to potentially adverse weather conditions.
• Frequent physical activity: standing/walking, pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying, climbing steps, squatting, stooping, and related activities.
