Job Description
Core Cleaning – Top-to-Bottom Process
High Dusting & Prep (Top):
Dust ceiling corners, light fixtures, vents, crown molding, window tops, and base of ceiling fans.
Remove cobwebs and dust from high surfaces using extension poles.
Mid-Level Surfaces:
Dust and wipe blinds/shades, window sills, picture frames, shelves, doors, doorknobs, and switch plates.
Clean glass (interior windows as assigned), mirrors, and partitions streak-free.
Wipe and disinfect high-touch surfaces (desks, tables, countertops).
Fixtures & Appliances:
Clean and sanitize kitchen and breakroom areas (countertops, sinks, cabinet fronts, appliance exteriors; inside microwave).
Spot-clean appliance interiors as assigned (e.g., fridge/freezer) and descale kettles/coffee machines when required.
Bathrooms/Restrooms:
Clean, disinfect, and polish toilets, urinals, sinks, faucets, tubs, and showers.
Scrub/spot-clean tile and grout; replenish supplies (soap, paper, liners).
Polish mirrors and chrome; ensure odor control.
Floors (Bottom):
Sweep and vacuum carpets, rugs, and hard floors, including edges and under furniture where accessible.
Damp mop/hard-floor clean with appropriate solutions; spot treat stains.
Use appropriate methods for various surfaces (wood/laminate/stone/LVT).
Final Touches:
Empty, clean, and reline trash/recycling bins.
Organize and tidy visible areas; stage rooms neatly.
Conduct a final top-to-bottom visual check for missed spots, streaks, or debris.
Specialty & Periodic Tasks (as assigned)
Deep cleans (baseboards, vents, interior windows/tracks, oven/fridge interiors).
Post-construction or move-in/move-out cleaning.
Upholstery, blinds, and detail dusting of décor/electronics (following client guidance).
Light organization tasks in kitchens, closets, or offices per scope.
Safety & Operational Duties
Follow all safety protocols (wear Personal Protective Equipment), OSHA standards, company procedures, and product dilution ratios.
Use step ladders safely when required and adhere to fall-prevention practices.
Properly maintain and store equipment (vacuum filters, mop heads, extension poles).
Report maintenance issues, damages, or supply shortages promptly.
Respect confidentiality and protect client property.
Keep accurate time, task, and checklist records via mobile apps.
Job Requirements
Experience: 12+ months in residential and/or commercial cleaning (or strong willingness to learn with a can-do attitude).
Process Discipline: Comfortable following a structured top-to-bottom cleaning sequence and detailed checklists.
Quality & Detail: Strong eye for detail; consistent standards for dust-free, streak-free results.
Communication: Professional, friendly, and clear with clients and team members.
Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and coachable.
Transportation: Reliable way to travel between job sites; valid driver’s license.
Eligibility: Authorized to work in the country; willingness to complete a background check.
Preferred:
Experience with both residential homes and office/commercial spaces.
Knowledge of green/eco-friendly cleaning products and practices.
Familiarity with mobile scheduling and checklist apps.
Bilingual a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 lbs. on a regular basis (e.g., supplies, small equipment, and ability to move light furniture).
Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and reaching overhead and at/below waist level.
Comfortable getting on knees for detailed floor/baseboard/tile cleaning.
Ability to climb and descend stairs repeatedly during a shift.
Safe use of step ladders for high-dusting and cleaning tasks.
Standing and walking for prolonged periods (up to the full shift with scheduled breaks).
Manual dexterity for handling tools, sprayers, cloths, and small parts.
Tolerance to common cleaning environments and pet dander (e.g., scents from cleaning agents—PPE provided).
Schedule & Work Conditions
Schedules: Weekdays; morning or daytime. May include weekends (optional).
Worksites: Varying client locations (homes and offices); travel time may be required between jobs.
Environment: Exposure to dust, common cleaning solutions, pet dander, and varying room temperatures; PPE and training provided.
Tools & Products:
Use of vacuums (upright/canister/backpack), microfiber systems, mops, extension dusters, scrapers (for safe residue removal), and EPA-registered disinfectants as applicable.
Safe handling of products, correct dilution, and proper labeling/logging.
Adherence to surface-specific care (e.g., stone-safe products, wood-safe cleaners).
Performance Metrics:
Quality: Checklist completion, re-clean rate, and client satisfaction scores.
Efficiency: On-time starts/finishes within scope and schedule.
Professionalism: Appearance, communication, respect for client spaces.
Safety: Zero preventable incidents; proper PPE usage and reporting.
