Job Description

The Front End Checkout Associate is responsible for providing fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service to customers. This role ensures a positive final shopping experience by scanning merchandise, processing payments, and assisting customers while following company policies and customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service

Greet customers courteously and maintain a friendly, professional attitude
Answer basic questions and assist with bagging merchandise
Resolve routine customer concerns and escalate issues when necessary

Checkout Operations

Accurately scan and process merchandise at checkout
Handle cash, credit, debit, gift cards, and other forms of payment
Ensure correct pricing, promotions, and discounts are applied
Issue receipts, process returns or exchanges per store policy

Accuracy & Compliance

Follow all cash-handling and loss prevention procedures
Verify age-restricted purchases when required
Maintain compliance with company policies and safety standards

Store & Team Support

Keep checkout areas clean, organized, and stocked with supplies
Assist with self-checkout monitoring when needed
Support front-end operations during peak business hours

Job Requirements

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
No prior experience required (training provided)
Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Basic math and communication skills
