CCWD Assists Customer with GED Completion, Career Exploration, and Training for a New Future

Loribeth first came to CCWD seeking a higher‑paying job and opportunities for training. Although she initially explored phlebotomy, research and career guidance at CCWD helped her discover additional pathways aligned with her strengths and interests.

With guidance from CCWD staff, Loribeth next considered pharmacy technician training. After completing a career assessment and reflecting on her personal experiences – having two close family members with autism – she also began exploring careers as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT). To make an informed decision, Loribeth reviewed labor market information through O*NET and watched career exploration videos on Pathful.

Loribeth ultimately chose the RBT career path, recognizing that it aligned with her desire to help others and her previous experience supporting children with autism. In addition, she had experience as an in‑home care companion.

Through CCWD’s support, Loribeth completed her RBT training at Carroll Community College and earned her GED. She has now accepted a new position as a Registered Behavioral Technician and is excited to begin her new career next week.

Congratulations to Loribeth on her hard work, determination, and success!
