Job Description

Teltek, a 28-Year-Old 2nd Generation Veteran-Owned Technology Company, is seeking an experienced Field Technician

This role is for a full-time, “In the field” position the selected and candidate making routine visits to the Teltek Frederick office. As Field Technician, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining a wide variety of technology solutions in various commercial environments. Technologies will include, low voltage/structured cabling, VoIP telephone systems, surveillance and access control systems, mass notification systems and a variety of IT solutions such as computers, servers, and networking. While some industry experience is strongly preferred it is not required; Teltek will provide training, tools, company laptop, cell phone and vehicle to lesser experienced candidates that can demonstrate commitment, tenure, and growth mindset through their previous career history. Job Requirements

• Some prior experience working with technology deployments or support, strongly preferred. If no prior experience in tech, 5 years of concurrent experience working in facilities management, a trade such as electronics, HVAC, electrical, control systems, elevators, etc. and/or related field/installations work.
• Ability to exhibit an above average level of customer service, exceptional verbal and written communication and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Minimum of a high school diploma required; Associate degree, completion of trade school, apprenticeships, technical certificates such as (Microsoft Network+ and A+,
MCSE/MCP, CCNA, etc.) and/or some college strongly preferred.
• Demonstrates a “Can-Do”, positive attitude and team player and the willingness to take whatever initiative necessary to service customer needs efficiently.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, follow through and documentation skills.
• Must be a motivated, hardworking and an independent self-starter with the ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred; proficiency in spoken and written English required.
• Eligible to work in the US with a valid driver’s license, clean driving record; ability to pass a background and drug screenings.
• Some travel and after-hours/on call work will be required.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs independently.
• Ability to work at heights up to 35 feet utilizing a lift and/or ladders.
• Security Clearance: Not Required
