Are you passionate about early childhood development and ready to lead a dedicated team in a supportive, mission-driven environment? Join us at the Family Support Center, where we empower families and nurture the growth of children from birth to age five. This leadership role is filled in consultation with our funding partner, Maryland Family Network (MFN).

What You’ll Do

As the Child Development Specialist, you will:

Implement and uphold child development service policies and procedures
Supervise all child development staff, interns, and volunteers in alignment with MFN guidelines and best practices
Lead outreach and recruitment efforts to engage families in our programs
Model positive, developmentally appropriate interactions with children and parents
Plan and facilitate parenting workshops and classes using formal curricula
Ensure a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children from birth to five
Maintain accurate records and reports, and reinforce health and safety standards

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Studies, Special Education, or a related field (must include six 3-credit ECE courses). Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of paid experience working with children ages 0–5. At least 1 year of supervisory experience required.
Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license; ability to lift, bend, and squat as needed in child development settings.
