Job Description

Position Overview: The Warehouse Technician for IT Hardware is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, distribution, and maintenance of IT hardware and related equipment. This role involves handling inventory, ensuring quality control, and preparing equipment for deployment. The technician will work closely with IT teams, logistics, and other departments to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

o Receive and log incoming shipments of IT hardware, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders.
o Organize and maintain the warehouse to optimize space and accessibility.
o Safely handle, store, and transport IT hardware, including servers, desktops, laptops, networking devices, and peripherals.
o Conduct inspections to ensure all equipment is in proper working condition.
o Perform basic troubleshooting, testing, and configuration of IT hardware as needed.
o Pick, pack, and ship IT equipment for internal or external use.
o Prepare hardware kits for deployment based on IT specifications or end-user requirements.
o Verify that all IT hardware is functioning properly before deployment.
o Identify and report defective or damaged equipment and coordinate replacements or repairs.
o Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handling IT assets.

Job Requirements

o High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.
o 1-3 years of experience in warehouse operations or IT hardware handling.
o Familiarity with IT hardware components, including computers, servers, and networking devices.
o Proficiency with inventory management software and basic office applications (e.g., Excel).
o Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) safely.
o A+ Certification or similar IT credentials.
o Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment.
o Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
o Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
o Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime when needed.
