What You Will Do
Are you ready to support the cleanliness of the County’s Senior Centers? As a Senior Center Custodian working with Aging and Disabilities leadership, you will handle essential custodial duties. Reporting to the Senior Center Manager, your role will ensure a clean and friendly environment for visitors. Sanitizing tables, assisting visitors, and collecting trash are the daily responsibilities of this role.
Essential Duties
• Pick up litter, empty trash cans, and put trash in dumpster.
• Assure that buildings are clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly. Tasks include cleaning lavatories, furniture, walls, and flooring using industrial powered equipment.
• Set-up and break down tables and chairs for events at the Senior Centers.
• Secure building and equipment at the end of the shift.
• Maintain all cleaning equipment.
• Assure that walkways are kept clear. Note condition of the building and report issues to supervisor.
• Assist with light kitchen duties as needed.
• Interact with Senior Center members.
• Complete assigned work in a timely fashion. Accept feedback.
• Demonstrate an ability to collaborate and a willingness to learn. Participate in a supportive work environment.

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• Two or more years of related experience
• A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Required Licenses and Certifications
• Valid driver’s license
• National ServSafe certification (or must obtain within first year of employment)
• CPR, AED, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certification (or must obtain within the first six months of employment)

• Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
Working Conditions
• Frequent exposure to potentially adverse environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, chemicals, noise, and airborne particles.
• Frequent physical activity: standing/walking, pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying, climbing steps, squatting, stooping, and related activities.
• Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
