**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our workshop team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with both diesel and gas trucks, a variety of heavy equipment, and a strong understanding of hydraulic systems and brake systems. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a commitment to excellence in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. The role will require 40-60 hr weeks while providing time and a half overtime. Welding experience preferred, Machine operation welcomed.

Job Requirements
**Responsibilities:**
1. Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance:
– Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel and gas trucks, heavy equipment, and other machinery.
– Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, providing efficient and effective solutions.
2. Hydraulic Systems:
– Inspect, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems on various equipment.
– Ensure all hydraulic components are functioning correctly and safely.
3. Brake Systems:
– Perform brake inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
– Ensure all brake systems meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
4. Record Keeping:
– Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
– Document parts used, labor hours, and other relevant information.
5. Safety and Compliance:
– Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
– Stay updated with industry regulations and standards, ensuring compliance in all repair and maintenance activities.
6. Team Collaboration:
– Work collaboratively with other mechanics, shop personnel, and management to ensure smooth operations.
– Provide mentorship and guidance to junior mechanics as needed.
**Qualifications:**
– Proven experience as a mechanic with expertise in diesel and gas trucks, heavy equipment, hydraulic systems, and brake systems.
– Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
– Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
– Proficiency with various tools and equipment used in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
– Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Relevant certifications or technical training in mechanics preferred.
– Shop and road/field duties
