We’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic—join our team today!

Chesapeake Geosystems, based in Baltimore MD, has been a leading provider of geothermal energy solutions for over 30 years. We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. This role involves both in-shop and field work, requiring travel to job sites. You will be performing repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on heavy construction equipment, such as drilling rigs, excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and skid steers. The ideal candidate for this role is hardworking, punctual, and responsible.

Job Requirements

– Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of heavy construction equipment (drilling rigs, excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, etc.)
– Diagnose and repair powertrain, mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues, utilizing technical schematics and diagnostic tools
– Modify and repair equipment using MIG/Stick welding and metal fabrication techniques
– Conduct inspections and routine maintenance to ensure equipment runs efficiently and meets safety standards
– Travel to job sites for on-site repairs and emergency services as needed
– Utilize hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical blueprints to perform accurate repairs
– Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
– Maintain detailed logs of maintenance and repair work via computer software
– Maintain a clean work area, properly store tools, and organize equipment to ensure an efficient workflow
