Job Description

Responsible for providing one-on-one services to HSP participants and potential/at-risk persons applying for energy assistance through OHEP (Office of Home Energy Programs).

Essential Functions:

Dissemination of eligibility requirement information.
Identify necessary documentation needed & obtain information to complete application.
Establish/maintain complete client files in an organized and retrievable manner.
Computer data entry in various databases.
Process OHEP applications, commit OHEP grants to vendors.
Answer client questions via phone calls and in person.
Answer questions from stakeholders re: applicant issues.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Security monitor inquiries as needed.
Provide Front Desk Lobby assistance as needed

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidates for this position must possess the following skills: effective teamwork skills to accomplish program objectives; effective interpersonal skills to support organizational and program goals; organizational skills to accomplish assigned tasks; understanding of organizational and OHEP program goals and objectives; knowledge of human service community resources. Accurate computer data entry skills. Knowledge of and/or aptitude to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, OHEP program, Internet web portals (i.e., BGE, Potomac Edison, etc.). Excellent customer service skills required including ability to interact in a professional manner with clients who may be distraught. Must be positive, cooperative and supportive. Candidates are required to have a valid motor vehicle operator’s permit and current automobile insurance.

Educational Requirements:
HS Diploma or certificate of completion from an accredited high school and one year of paid experience in an equivalent or similar position. Candidates with prior experience in the human services field are preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
N/A

Work Environment:
Office setting. Occasional light lifting (i.e., reams of paper, books or materials up to 20 pounds).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full Time (40 hours/week).

Travel Requirements:
Travel to meetings/training may be required.
