Department: Human Resources
Pay Grade: 6 (minimum starting hourly rate $18.41)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
Provides general clerical and administrative support to the Human Resource office, primarily related to the recruitment process. This position reports to the Recruiting Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Screen applicant materials to determine best match to fill vacancies across the college
• Contact potential candidates; follow-up during recruitment process as directed
• Assist with preparation and posting of positions
• Assist with preparation and flow of new hire/re-hire paperwork as directed
• Schedule interviews, background checks etc. as required
• Assist with applicant screening
• Assist with compilation of search files
• Assist with Onboarding as directed
• Assist the Recruiting Coordinator with special projects
• Assists other HR staff as directed by Supervisor or Director of HR.
• Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
• High school diploma or equivalent and two years’ Human Resources office experience
• Familiarity with hiring practices and stages (screening, interview, assessment, onboarding)
• Experience with office equipment (copier/fax/scanner etc.)
• Experience with or aptitude to learn information management system (Perceptive Content)
• Computer experience (Microsoft Office)
• Organized and exhibits attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Must be positive, cooperative, and supportive
Preferred:
• Experience with applicant tracking software (such as NeoEd)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This work is normally sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and or negligible amount of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
• Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate
• Visual Acuity/ability to perceive or detect surroundings
• Mental acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand, and convey subject matter
• Repetitive motion (i.e., keyboarding)
• Stand/sit/walk/able to move or traverse from one area to another
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Busy HR Office. College campus, direct contact with diverse students, staff, faculty and the general public in classrooms, common and shared areas, offices, and campus environments. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms; use of safe workplace practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing with some highly technical applications and new technology systems; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations and all College policies. Work hours may vary as assigned by Supervisor and not to exceed 29 hours per week.
