What You Will Do
As the Network Security Analyst, you will provide technical expertise in all areas of network, system, and application security. Working closely with the various teams in the Department of Technology Services, you will ensure that systems and networks are designed, developed, deployed, and managed with an emphasis on strong, effective security and risk management controls. The Network Manager will rely on you to act as the initial point of contact for cybersecurity questions and incidents, manage the annual cybersecurity assessments and penetration tests, and research and report on emerging threats, to help the county take pre-emptive risk mitigation steps.
Essential Duties
• Proactively monitor the environment to detect and implement steps to mitigate cyber-attacks before they occur.
• Provide technical expertise regarding security-related concepts to operational teams within the Department.
• Correlate and analyze security events within the context of the County’s unique environment to proactively detect threats and mitigate attacks before they occur.
• Provide high-level support for the day-to-day operations of securing the County’s various information systems.
• Review, investigate, and respond to real-time alerts within the environment.
• Monitor online security-related resources for new and emerging cyber threats.
• Asses new security technologies to determine potential value for the enterprise.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments of systems and networks.
• Manage systems owned by the Information Security Team.
• Maintain current knowledge of cybersecurity methods, trends and techniques.
• Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.
• Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities. Proactively assist peers to create a supportive work environment.

Job Requirements

• Three or more years of related experience
• A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications
• CompTIA Security+ certification
