Job Description
The Outreach Educator is responsible for coordinating and implementing sexual assault education and prevention programming in settings such as, but not limited to, community centers, businesses, schools, and other agencies. The position requires flexible availability due to nature of programming and events. The role of the Outreach Educator is to raise awareness around CARE services, sexual assault awareness, and work to prevent future violence by hosting community conversations and events throughout Carroll County. This position is also responsible for working with the CARE team to develop community partnerships and is the primary liaison for off-site programming.
Job Requirements
Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities.
Identify and facilitate potential outreach and prevention education opportunities within the community.
Identify and facilitate potential community partnerships with other local advocacy, mental health, domestic violence, and other community institutions to promote CARE services.
Organize, plan, and facilitate student and staff educational programing at all Carroll County Public Schools, as well as McDaniel College and Carroll Community College.
Develop and lead virtual and live health and wellness education programs, events and activities on campus and in the community.
Create and maintain relationships with statewide coalitions and agencies to improve awareness of best practices and policy.
Provide on-site crisis intervention and referrals for community events and trainings.
Represent agency at community meetings and other events in a positive, professional manner.
Facilitate creation or purchase of up-to-date brochures and other educational and promotional materials for distribution at public-facing events.
Attend conferences and trainings as needed to stay up to date on current best practices, training methods, and preventative education measures.
Write or coordinate blogs, social media accounts, newspaper articles, and other long-form media as needed.
Compile and enter monthly and yearly statistical, narrative, and other reports as directed.
Participle in agency functions as a participant or presenter as needed.
Actively participate in backup helpline coverage
Maintain the confidentiality of client, staff, volunteer, and agency information
Promote, support, and demonstrate the mission, vision, and values of CARE through both behavior, and job performance as well as adhere to policies, procedures, and standards on a day-to-day basis
Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients, community members and staff
Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or ED.
