Job Description

The Department of Public Works (DPW), Bureau of Building Construction is searching for an experienced Project Manager to lead Community Investment Projects for Carroll County.
As a Project Manager for DPW, you will be responsible for leading various projects. Some examples of recent projects include park pavilions, office renovations, new multi-story buildings and a fire safety training center. This opportunity will provide experience working with local, state, and federal agencies, managing traditional project management elements, scope, schedule, and budget, and learning from other industry experts.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have strong communication skills to work effectively with county staff, user agencies and construction contractors. We will also be looking for a candidate with proficient computer skills, which includes knowledge of project management software packages, billing and finance applications, and the Microsoft suite of tools. This position requires strict adherence to the on-the-job safety of County staff and all trades.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
• Minimum of three to five years’ construction management, site superintendent, or large-scale project experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Sediment and Erosion Control certification issued by the Maryland Department of the Environment (or obtain within first year of employment)
• A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications
