Job Description

Carroll Lutheran Village is looking for a compassionate and results-oriented Independent Living Sales Counselor to join our mission-driven team. In this rewarding role, you will be the welcoming face and trusted advisor for prospective residents and their families, helping them discover the vibrant lifestyle and peace of mind that come with joining our award-winning Life Plan Community.

You will play a key role in creating meaningful connections and guiding individuals through one of life’s most important decisions—choosing a place to call home that offers comfort, security, and opportunities for purposeful living. This position follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional evening and weekend availability required to support events and prospective resident needs. This role offers a base salary plus commission for meeting targeted goals.

What You will Do as a CLV Sales Counselor:

Achieve and maintain occupancy and revenue goals through effective sales calls, lead management, tours, and closings.
Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming environment, demonstrating strong product knowledge, and addressing prospect’s needs.
Meet or exceed individual sales activity targets, including outreach, appointments, and conversions.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with current residents, families, and referral sources to generate internal and external leads.
Represents the community at public events, expos, and networking functions to promote visibility and generate leads.
Manage and qualify leads in the CRM system; maintain accurate records and follow-up communication.
Give community tours and conduct presentations for prospective residents and their families.
Assist in planning and executing marketing events and promotional activities in coordination with the sales team.
Participate in sales meetings and ongoing training to enhance product knowledge and selling techniques.
Monitor market trends and conduct competitive benchmarking; provide insights and reports to management.
Maintain a weekly personal sales plan and submit regular activity reports.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Job Requirements

What You will Need as a CLV Sales Counselor:

Education | Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred. Equivalent high-level experience in selling services or complex products may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of three years’ experience in a professional sales environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of marketing strategies, sales techniques, and CRM or sales tracking systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels, including residents, staff, families, external vendors/authorities, and the public.
Strong attention to detail in writing, proofreading, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating a cooperative, respectful, and compassionate approach to colleagues and resident care.
Skilled in the use of standard office equipment and technology.
Maintains professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude when managing challenging situations.
Support database marketing efforts to nurture leads and drive engagement.
