Job Description

Safety Tank of Maryland Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient pick-up and delivery of used and unused compressed gas cylinders, hard goods, and associated products, following local routes to the customers’ location. This position is physically active and will be responsible for loading/unloading at client sites. Safety Tank of Maryland Drivers engage with customers by responding to their needs and providing excellent customer service while actively executing onsite problem-solving strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Picking up empty and used gas cylinders from customers by making an average of 1-2 stops per day, while touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service.
• Accurately count and record the quantities and styles of products picked up or delivered.
• Complete hazardous material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance.
• Build both relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet goals and objectives of the business and customer needs.
• When not on assigned route assist with the processing, capture, and reclamation of gas and gas cylinders.
• Other duties as assigned by operations team.

Job Requirements

• 2 years of consecutive driving experience or have recently received a certification from an accredited Truck Driving School
• Valid class A or B CDL is required
• Ability to operate manual transmission.
• Current Hazmat Endorsement on CDL with Tanker endorsement strongly encouraged.
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in the past 2 years
• No alcohol related convictions within the last 10 years
• Pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
• Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 75 pounds continuously throughout the day.
• Read and write in English
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required
• 21 years or older
