What You Will Do
As a Youth Program Coordinator & Career Advisor, you will perform case management, provide career planning and training support, develop work experiences, conduct outreach, and maintain customer files and data. Your knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act will support program design, funding recommendations and compliance with Federal, State and local laws.
Essential Duties
• Perform case management, including determining eligibility, comprehensive assessment, providing information and referrals to other services.
• Coordinate data collection, prepare reports, and maintain files. Ensure accuracy of all records maintained.
• Provide career planning, educational guidance, training opportunities and work experience opportunities to assist young adults with developing career pathways and obtaining employment.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive plan to address the academic, occupational, social, economic, and personal needs of local youth experiencing barriers to employment.
• Design, develop and coordinate annual 6-week Summer Youth Employment Program.
• Coordinate outreach efforts to connect youth with resources. Promote Carroll County Workforce Development (CCWD) services.
• Develop business partnerships and work experience opportunities for young adults.
• Work collaboratively with partner organizations and educational providers to provide effective and accessible services.
• Collaboratively support development and coordinate the activities of CCWDD’s standing youth and young adult committee
• Foster collaboration and provide learning opportunities. Facilitate a supportive work environment.
• Independently ensure all work is complete and timely to achieve department goals. Review work of others to ensure that organizational standards are met.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Three or more years of related experience
• A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Required Licenses and Certifications
• Valid driver’s license
• Youth Worker, Global Career Development Facilitator, or Certified Workforce Development Professional (or must obtain one certification within one year of employment)
