Congoleum is seeking an Industrial Electrician for our Finksburg, MD plant. The industrial Electrician will lay out, install, maintain, repair, and test electrical devices, fixtures, control equipment, meters, instruments, and wiring throughout the facility. The Electrician will also adjust, calibrate, troubleshoot, analyze, and repair electrical/electronic equipment as required.

Qualified Applicants must have a good working knowledge of the following: DC drives, VFDs, PLCs, Single and three-phase motors, process controllers, switchgear, and relay logic troubleshooting. Pneumatic over electric tank level controls are a plus. Knowledge of electronics, instrumentation, and thermal scanning techniques is a plus. High School Diploma/GED and/or Trade School is a plus. Must be able to work overhead, lift medium to heavy weights, climb, and use man lifts. Must also be able to use power tools, hand tools, service gauges, shop machines, personal computers, lifting devices, and forklifts.

Job Requirements

• Layout, dismantle, install, maintain, repair, and test electrical devices, fixtures, control equipment, meters, instruments, and wiring throughout the facility.
• Make new installations of electrical/electronic equipment throughout the plant.
• Read, interpret, develop, and update blueprints, charts, and sketches.
• Adjust, calibrate, troubleshoot, analyze, and repair electrical/electronic equipment as required, including voltage equipment requiring precision.
• Adjust and repair frequency drive motor controllers.
• Operate assigned mobile equipment during repairs and to transport and install material and equipment.
• Keep equipment and working area in safe, clean, and orderly condition.
• Prior work experience in a manufacturing facility is a plus.
• Be able to read written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
• Write legibly.
• The physical requirements are:
o Standing 1-3 hours
o Stooping and bending
o Reaching above your head
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
o Ability to climb a ladder
• Overtime – four-hour shifts.
• Alertness to recognize mechanical issues that may arise with the equipment.
• Experience or the ability to be trained in driving a fork truck and/or tow motor.
• Experience or the ability to operate an overhead crane.
• Unionized facility
• High School diploma / GED – required
• Masters Electrician License Required – State licensed
